International showjumper

Joe Stockdale is the son of the late, great Tim Stockdale, who was one of the hardest working and nicest guys in British showjumping.

With horses in his blood, Joe is a natural in the saddle and showed promise from an early age.

As well as showjumping he competed for his Pony Club in tetrathlons and mounted games – taking part in the famous Prince Philip Cup at London’s Olympia Horse Show.

Joe had his first taste of international competition when he was selected to jump on the junior team for Great Britain in 2017, travelling to Holland and Belgium.

The 21-year-old is also a talented cricket player and nearly chose this sport as his career. However, he decided to take over the reins of his dad’s business, and hasn’t looked back.

In 2018 Joe qualified to jump at Horse of the Year Show, where he won the five-fence challenge and finished an impressive ninth place in the Grand Prix.

Later that year he made his debut at Olympia, where Tim made his name. Joe did his dad proud, coming ninth in the Under 25 Grand Prix.

In 2019 Joe won his first ranking class in Spain and went on to win the Under 25’s class at Royal Windsor.  Joe was also selected to be a part of the Young Rider squad at the European Championships in Holland that same year.

Joe has produced several horses to Grand Prix level is and continuing the Stockdale legacy.

In addition to his incredible success in the saddle, Joe has also made a big impact on social media. His YouTube channel gives fans a sneak peek into the life of an international showjumper.
