Sagacious HF, Lombard V, Whitman
Dressage rider Lauren Sammis began her competitive career in three-day eventing at the age of 13. By the time she turned 17, she already knew she wanted to focus on becoming a top dressage rider.
From a very early age, Lauren Sammis has been about balance between education and athletics, work and play, professional goals and personal life. She’s channeled this philosophy into her dressage training and competitive career. She is also known for her charitable contributions on behalf of a variety of causes, notably for the next generation of equestrians. For several years, she has served as a judge at Lendon Gray’s Youth Dressage Festival at Hits-on-the-Hudson in Saugerties, New York. Sammis, who started her own riding career with Gray as a working student in her early years, has always enjoyed being part of an event that attracts young riders from around the world.
Lauren is also the founder of Sammis Sales LLC, a business that focuses on importing and training European dressage horses. Lauren’s goal is to provide quality horses for sale to premier clients as well as world-class dressage training, instruction and coaching through the Grand Prix level.
She has since trained with a variety of upper level riders over the years and translated that into many years of success on Sagacious HF, who she trained to Grand Prix. She won team gold and individual silver at the Rio de Janeiro Pan Am games in 2007. She is also a USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze medalist.
She resides currently and runs her training and sales business in New Jersey and spends her winters in Wellington, Florida where she trains and competes.
