2006 – Awarded the Longines Press Award for Elegance in Dublin; Won the $100,000 National Indoor Finals for the Marshall & Sterling League; Won the $100,000 Wachovia Securities American Gold Cup World Cupqualifying Grand Prix

Christine McCrea grew up in Suffield, CT, and started riding at a nearby stable in 1985. She competed in hunter/jumpers throughout her junior years and won the prestigious 1996 Washington International Horse Show Equitation Finals. After earning a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Connecticut, where she continued riding, she returned to riding full time.
She has since seen considerable success in the grand prix ring. She was selected for the USET Super League Tour in 2005, 206, 2006 and 2011. She was also named to the USET Developing Riders Tour in 2004. She rode on the Nations Cup team in Lumen, Belgium, in 2005 and was awarded the 2006 Longines Press Award for Elegance in Dublin, Ireland. She has posted clear rounds in numerous Nations Cup competitions and was a finalist for the 2007 Las Vegas World Cup.
Christine and her husband, show jumper Jonathan McCrea, are based at Windsor Show Stables in Windsor, CT. When they’re not training or competing, they enjoy attending UConn football games and spending time with their two dogs.
