Charles Owen’s Round Fit Helmets

Have you struggled to find a helmet that isn’t uncomfortably snug on the sides? Have you tried on Charles Owen helmets in the past and found them to be too oval in shape for your head? If so, you’re probably a Round Fit! Charles Owen has a wide range of helmets that will be your perfect match, whether you’re looking for a cross-country skullcap, a velvet for the showing ring, a completely unique bespoke helmet or a helmet to hack in!

Charles Owen is dedicated to finding the best fitting helmet for each rider, regardless of head shape and size. This is why the Round Fit is such an important part of the sizes in our extensive helmet range.

Which helmets are available in Round Fit?

The entire Ayr8® family is available in Round Fit: the Ayr8® Plus, Ayr8® Plus Leather LookAyr8® Plus With Trim, Ayr8® Plus With Piping, and Ayr8® Classic. If you’re looking for another velvet option, the Hampton is available in Round Fit. Other premium helmets available in Round Fit are the: AyrBrush, AyrBrush With Pinstripe, eLumen8, eLumenAyr, Palermo Polo, Palermo II and Polocrosse. For the cross-country rider, the Pro II PlusJS1, and JS1 Pro all offer Round Fit. For the junior rider, the YR8, YR8 Sparkly, jR8, jR8 Sparkly and Young Riders Jockey all come in Round Fit.

Finally, our brand new line of helmets that incorporate MIPS technology are also all available in round fit: the My PS, My PS With Wide Peak and MS1 Pro. MIPS is the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System. Its low friction layer allows a sliding motion 10-15mm, in all directions, to reduce the tangential forces transmitted to the brain during impact; read our latest Notes From Roy’s Lab to learn more about how MIPS adds a ‘top up’ of safety to our helmets! These three helmets and will be available in April 2019!

Fitting Tip: Always be sure to find the Round Fit helmet in your size instead of trying on a larger size helmet. If you simply increase the helmet size in a standard fit, the helmet is likely to be too large and may fall forward while you’re riding.
