Just thought I would drop you a line as i'm sure one of your hats could get in the Guinness book of records, for being the shortest lived that is... I've always worn your make of hat as I find both the comfort and fit pleasing, at an affordable price. My old Ultralite served me well, although had become loose due to general wear and so on Friday I purchased a new Ultralite, enjoying the snug secure fit once again. On Saturday I went to my friends horse who had not been ridden for almost two years. I soon found out why, after quietly lunging, the 17hh monster proceeded to give me a quick lesson in rodeo and despite my best efforts to stay on, he deposited me after a lap of the field straight onto my new hat and the side of my head. I was more than a little dazed, but according to my friend the first thing I said was something like"Oh dear my new hat!" I had no option but to get back on and shout verbal abuse whenever the horse showed signs of wanting to tip me off again. On inspection the hat has a good degree more flexibility than it had before I got on and so it has joined the heap of dead ones after just 20 hours in my care. i would just like to say thank you for saving my head and I wonder if anyone can beat my record...?'

Letter sent October 2005:

"Horse exploded and began to buck and rear. I fell off and landed on my head. I had to go to ER, I have a grade one head injury and broken nose, seperated shoulder and neck injury. If it were not for this wonderful helmet, I know I would have been killed. I can't say enough good things about this helmet. I would be glad to help get the word out about this product in any way."

" Two weeks ago I suffered a most unpleasant fall onto gravel after my horse spooked and trook off bucking. the ONLY thing I remember about the fall is the clear definition of bouncing on my head 3 times (apparently I got rolled and jostled quite a bit more!). While spending the entire day in the ER dealing with the doctors, x-rays, etc, I never even had the slightest bit of a headache! Incredible! Love the J3!".

"Hi, I have always ridden in your skull caps because I think they are a quality product. I thought you would like to hear an incident involving my J3 which proves how safe they are. I inadvertently dropped the hood of my Audi TT whilst my J3 was in the trunk. My J3 was fine but the windscreen of my car shattered and the hood frame bent which cost over £4000 to repair. I can see the funny side now - but i thought it would be of interest in my test of the J3 and it passed with flying colours."

Dear Charles Owen.
Thank you for sending the jockey skull which arrived yesterday. Iwore it today when i rode my horse. The fit was very comfortable and I am looking forward to making good use of it. I think it was very wise to have had my charles owen riding hat on when I went driving with my friend in her pony and carriage. I still do not remeber anythig for just over 10 days. This included my husband having a heart attack 4 days after my accident. It was so nice to have a present from charles owen and it has helped to raise our spirits. Yours sincerely ***.
