When Started Riding: at age 10
First horse/pony: Willy - show name "Will He
Do It" - mountain welsh and part donkey
First Horse Show: St. Ives Horse Trial, where I fell
off three times in XC. It took 18 minutes to finish the course
because Willy kept running back to the trailer every time
I fell off. I finished dead last with 386 penalty points.
Horse that taught me the most: My first 4 star horse,
Flying Doctor. He taught me not to lean forward before take
off, if he stopped I'd go over the front of him.
Favorite Equine partner: Brady Bunch
Motto: The pain of a hard workout saves the agony
of defeat.
Advice to Aspiring Riders/Drivers: With out struggle,
there is no progress
Greatest accomplishment: Winning the Adelaide 4* in
2003 on True Blue Toozac
Worst moment: breaking 7 ribs and my collar bone in
6 places in terrible fall at the Melborne Three Day Event
while riding Starkey.
Worst injury: breaking my leg in nine places after
a dressage fall in outback Australia, I had a 4 hour drive
to the hospital and then was put in room with prisoner handcuffed
to a bed
What other career would you have chosen?: professional
gambler living in Las Vegas
Goals: to win every four star event in the world in
one calendar year
